Michael Gilbert and his wife, Sara, came to Colorado from New York City as VISTA volunteers in 1970 and immediately embraced the Rocky Mountain way of life. After serving as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society, Michael established his own practice in 1978. One of his first clients was the Colorado Dental Association which, more than thirty years later, he still represents. As a respected practitioner in the areas of elder law, estate planning, and trusts, he frequently speaks to groups about these topics.
In addition to establishing himself as one of Denver's pre-eminent attorneys, Michael is very involved in civic and community activities. He served on the Colorado Supreme Court Grievance Committee and the Colorado Air Pollution Variance Board. He has held board leadership positions for various organizations including the Denver Institute for Jewish Studies and the Hebrew Educational Alliance.
In his leisure time, Michael enjoys opera, classical music, biking, cross-country skiing, and gourmet cooking.
